What We’ll Cowl In This Publish:
Writers Work Assessment: Did I Say Assessment? I Meant Rip-off
What instantly struck me as odd once I landed on the Writers Work web site is there is no ‘About Me’ web page or any contact data in anyway.
After doing a little bit of digging, it turns on the market’s an excellent purpose the homeowners select to cover their true identification behind a cloak of anonymity:
This is identical group of individuals liable for the infamous Grasp Writing Jobs rip-off: one other writing membership website that used outrageous earnings claims and deceptive advertising and marketing, saying issues like:
- “QUICKLY Develop into a Freelance Author TODAY and Earn Your First Paycheck in Simply 30 MINUTES”
- “We now have members making anyplace from $2,000 to past $10,000 a month.“
- “Make hundreds of {dollars} per thirty days, as much as $65,000 per 12 months.”
In fact, it did not take lengthy for the refund requests and complaints to begin rolling in. In January of 2017, the Higher Enterprise Bureau stepped in after receiving 60+ complaints to try to get a response out of them.
They by no means obtained one and neither did all of the individuals asking for his or her a reimbursement…
As an alternative, the group of scammers determined to launch Writers Work. Based on CorporationWiki.com, Writers Work LLC was arrange on the eighth September 2017, across the identical time Grasp Writing Jobs closed its doorways to new members.
Have the Writers Work scammers realized from the previous and turned over a brand new leaf?
By no means. Similar to the creators of Paid On-line Writing Jobs, they’re simply after getting as a lot cash from you as potential.
Let me present you what you get as a member and why it is a rip-off you are higher off avoiding altogether.
It is clear you are not going to get very far with Writers Work, BUT… in the event you can write then you definitely CAN construct a full-time on-line enterprise round writing over the approaching months – so long as you’re prepared to take the required motion to make it occur.
That’s precisely what this step-by-step coaching will present you.
What On Earth Are You Paying $47 For?
By far my largest situation with Writers Work (I imply, other than the misleading advertising and marketing and nameless homeowners with shady monitor data) is the actual fact they’re asking you to pay a one-time payment of $47 or a $15/month subscription to seek out the knowledge you may already entry on-line without spending a dime.
The Writers Work Job Listings
Let’s check out their foremost membership characteristic for instance and you may see what I imply. This is a screenshot of the primary Writers Work job listings web page:
You see that?
All of the writing jobs are taken from free, publically accessible websites like Certainly and ProBlogger. You’re actually not getting something right here you couldn’t discover in 5 seconds or much less with a fast Google search.
You possibly can simply discover freelance writing work on websites like MediaBistro, iWriter or these 12 iWriter alternate options for freelancers.
If that is not sufficient then take a look at this tremendous useful YouTube video that offers you the 32 highest paying web sites for writers:
All of the websites I’ve simply given you might be fully free to affix. Typically, you may fill out a fast profile, affirm your e mail and begin shopping and making use of for jobs in lower than a minute.
There’s completely no purpose to pay a $47 membership payment to have the ability to do that.
By no means pay anybody to seek out freelance writing jobs. Finish of.
The Writers Work Textual content Editor
The second nonsensical promoting level of turning into a member is you get to make use of the Writers Work textual content editor, which seems to be a bit one thing like this:
What’s so particular about this textual content editor vs. the likes of Google Docs or Microsoft Phrase? Effectively, as you are writing your article you’ll see a stay phrase depend and general readability rating.
There’s additionally a spelling and grammar checker which may very well be helpful, although you may at all times set up the free Grammarly extension that does just about the identical factor.
The Writers Work College Library
What in regards to the coaching?
Earlier than you join, Writers Work promise you full and in-depth coaching that will help you launch your freelance writing profession, although I feel lots of people logging into the members’ space for the primary time are going to really feel short-changed and cheated…
Whereas there are some okayish classes included within the College Library of the location, the modules are simply far too brief there’s nothing you may’t be taught right here without spending a dime.
The reality is you are going to must pay out extra if you wish to get the meaty coaching. As much as $99 extra. That is proper, Writers Work comes with upsells, 3 in complete. Let’s rapidly undergo each:
Upsell 1: Freelance Author’s Toolkit – $29
A downloadable PDF file with done-for-you resume templates, pattern shopper contracts and tax guides.
Upsell 2: Freelance Author’s Toolkit + Teaching Session Bundle – $99
The toolkit we simply talked about and a 30-minute chat with an skilled freelancer.
Upsell 3: Premium Programs Bundle – $99
This third and last upsell has 2 programs:
- Jumpstarting Your Freelance Writing Profession
- A Newbie’s Information to Writing for the Internet
Whereas there may be some worth right here, I feel it is simply cheeky (if not downright dishonest) for Writers Work to market themselves as a one-time-fee membership website with the whole lot included earlier than daring to ask members to shell out extra of their hard-earned cash.
If Writers Work was a legit platform they’d merely embody these sources contained in the members’ space to assist their writers as a lot as potential like they promised. As an alternative, they only attempt to squeeze as a lot money out of you as they’ll.
Writers Work Ultimate Assessment Score: 5/100
In case you’re seeking to create an internet revenue as a author then there’s completely no purpose to enroll to the Writers Work rip-off.
For me, the ultimate nail within the coffin is the sheer variety of damaging Writers.Work opinions you may see on websites like TrustPilot, Higher Enterprise Bureau and Reddit.
The overwhelming majority of complaints appear to revolve round Writers Work’s faux promoting, complete lack of help and call data, not with the ability to get assist in the event you do handle to pay money for them and regardless of providing a 30-day money-back assure, these scammers are fully unwilling to face by it.
